chonky dice set with rounded corners
I really like how sharp edges are slowly becoming softer, rounding off corners and reflecting everything around them.
I aimed to create dice larger than standard sets, crafting something that feels simultaneously weighty like intense emotions and delicate like a single tear evoked by such emotions.
New design. New size.
I've been working on chonky dice since 2022, but my 3D design skills weren't good enough to satisfy me. Over the course of two years, I learned how to properly 3D model, print master dice, sand, and polish them. During that time, I sketched how the final dice should look, and here they are.
Rounded corners aren't designed in the modeling software; they're created during the sanding process, which makes them very challenging to achieve. As a small touch, I changed the dots on the "9" and "6" faces into star shapes.
